11th Annual Christmas Picnic !
This past weekend, I held my annual
Christmas Feast!
In fact, it was 11 years ago that I started this little tradition with 5 of my friends sitting around a dinner table which ended with us singing Wham songs using the remote control as our microphone….ahhh the good old days!
Times have definitely changed, as Sunday was spent with 20+ of my friends sitting under a rotunda in the middle of Darling Gardens. I probably should say that we were shivering under a rotunda as this past weekend would have to have been one of the coldest and wettest days I’ve seen in ages. The one day in the whole year that I pick for a picnic and the sun decides it’s having a day off!
But my friends are all troopers (or maybe they’re all just a little mad) as they all came along in their winter woollies (including beanies) and made the day lots of fun.
Here’s a little sneak peak of the food we ate....
Crispy Apple and Blue Cheese wrapped in Prosciutto.
Home-Made Hummus with Slow Roasted Tomatoes, Quail Eggs and Flat Bread.
Sticky Pork Ribs.
A happy customer....
Herb and Spinach Risoni Salad.
Vegetable Terrine with Tomato Chutney.
Dukkah Crusted Lamb Cutlets with Pomegranate and Tzatziki.
Potato Gallette.
And to help warm us up even more, for dessert we munched on....
Crispy Peach and Nectarine Tart served with fresh cream.
Baked Ricotta layered with Basil Leaves and served with Peach and Berrie salad with a Cardamon and Vanilla Syrup.
And to finish off - Dark Chocolate and Orange Pot de Cremes.
And that's that!
Another year over. Another feast has been and gone.
A big thank you to all of my friends for braving the rain and wind and making the day so much fun!
xx
