Gift Idea: Lavender Chocolate Truffles
Here is a little gift idea for you, which might also help use up any left over Easter Eggs you no longer want to look at.
This little idea is also for those times when you need or want to bring a present, but have no idea what that present should be. Perhaps the person already has everything. Perhaps they've asked for nothing, but you can't bare the thought of not bringing anything.
For all of those times, I think you'll find this little gift box to be a wonderful answer. Quick to put together, but made with utter love and joy.
Lavender Chocolate Truffles
(trEATs Cookbook by April Carter)
+
200ml cream |1 tsp dried lavender | 200g dark chocolate, finely chopped | 50g cocoa powder
Makes 40
- Heat the cream and lavender in a saucepan over a medium heat until small bubbles appear.
- Place the chopped chocolate in a bowl and pour the strained cream over it. Gently whisk the mixture until it is completely smooth and all of the chocolate has melted. Set your chocolate mixture aside to cool, then chill for at least 1 hour, or until it is firm enough to roll into balls.
- Place cocoa powder in a shallow bowl. Coat your fingers in the cocoa, then scoop out teaspoon fulls of the truffle mixture at a time and roll into balls. Roll each ball in the cocoa to coat it, then place in an airtight container. Chill in the fridge.
- They will keep for up to a week.
Don't be fooled by their teeny tiny size....these are decadent, rich little chocolate morsels with just a hint of lavender.
Happy rolling!
