Vitamin B1 (Thiamin)

Vitamin B1 (Thiamin)

It plays a major role in the growth and function of various cells in our body.

It’s also a water-soluble vitamin - meaning our body doesn’t store any excess for later use, so we have to keep replenishing the supply each and every day. Depending on your diet and the variety of whole foods you eat each day, you may be at risk of deficiency.

Deficiency?

As thiamin helps breakdown nutrients in our body for energy, a deficiency can lead to various problems in organs like the brain and heart - organs that require a constant supply of energy.

Toxicity?

It’s very rare to overdose on Vitamin B1 from food sources, as being a water soluble vitamin, our body simply flushes out any excess through our urine.
